The Dallas Cowboys have agreed terms on a new four-year contract with wide receiver Terrell Owens.

owens According to multiple reports in the United States, the new deal is worth $34 million and will run through to the 2011 season.

A third-round pick by San Francisco in 1996, Owens, who will turn 35 in December, was in the third and final season of his original contract which has now been extended by three years.

Since signing for Dallas in 2005 as a free agent, the Pro-Bowler has managed 166 catches for 2,535 yards and 28 touchdowns.

During his 11 years in the league Owens has caught 882 receptions - the ninth best in NFL history - and had eight 1,000-yard seasons.

Pacman cleared

In a further boost for the Cowboys, cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones has been granted permission by the National Football League to join his new team-mates for training camps and pre-season games.

Acquired in April via a trade with the Tennessee Titans, Jones was suspended without pay for the entire 2007 season.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will announce on September 1 if the 24-year-old will be re-instated for the 2008 season.

Jones was the first defensive player chosen in the 2005 NFL Draft when the Titans selected him with the sixth overall pick.
